Life Long Learning at Temple Kol Ami is the key to living a full and meaningful Jewish life. Temple Kol Ami regards education as a lifelong commitment; therefore we offer education at all stages of life. The goals of our Educational Program embrace experiences and learning activities which encourage children, youth and adults to become:
• Jews who affirm their Jewish identity and bind themselves inseparably to their people by word and deed.
• Jews who bear witness to the brit (covenant between God and the Jewish people) by embracing Torah through the study and observance of mitzvot (commandments) as interpreted in the light of historic development and contemporary thought.
• Jews who affirm their historical bonds to Eretz Yisrael, the State of Israel.
• Jews who value the practice of t’fillah (prayer).
• Jews who further the causes of justice, freedom and peace by pursuing righteousness, justice, and acts of loving kindness.
• Jews who celebrate Shabbat and the festivals and observe the Jewish ceremonies marking the significant occasions in their lives.
• Jews who esteem themselves and others; their own family and the families of others; their own community and the communities of others.
• Jews who express their kinship with K’lal Yisrael by actively seeking the welfare of Jews throughout the world.
• Jews who support and participate in Temple life. Such Jews will strengthen the fabric of Jewish life and ensure the future quality of Judaism and the Jewish people.

Temple Kol Ami is pleased to announce that it has become an official partner with Valley Beit Midrash (VBM). VBM is a collaborative adult education program that brings new, exciting and relevant Jewish learning to the Greater Phoenix Jewish community in a diverse, welcoming, engaging and pluralistic setting.

In this course we will consider different theological responses to the horrors of the Shoah. From ultra-Orthodox rabbis writing at the time of the Shoah to scholars writing decades after the event, we will consider a wide range of responses to the fundamental questions posed by the holocaust.

Cost $60 for 5 sessions
