Kol Ami Temple Youth – KATY
Teen youth grouping can be the most memorable experience of ones life. It is where life-long friends are made, and Jewish identities are explored and formed. Under the guidance of our experienced Youth Director, Wendy Herring, with deep involvement of our youth oriented Rabbi Schneider, teens come together to learn and make memories. Though we would love for the family to be a member of the temple, it is not necessary to join Kol Ami to have your teen be a member of KATY. Learn more…
To join contact Wendy Herring, KATY Advisor at wendy@templekolami.org or call the Temple Office 480-951-9660.
Blood Donors
You can help save lives by becoming a Kol Ami blood donor. The opportunities for the coming year are 11/20/11, 2/12/12, 4/22/12, 11/18/12. Come to one, come to all, give the gift only you can give. The American Red Cross bus will be in our parking lot from 8:30 – 12:30 on the Sundays listed above. Contact Susan Guzman, 480-998-1054 or click here to go to our volunteer page and check the box “Donate Blood.”
Kol Ami Golf Klassic Planning Committee
Every year, Temple Kol Ami hosts a golf tournament for members and friends, and if you’ve ever played in a charity event, you know they are fun. Organizing the raffles, the hole sponsors, coordinating with course, planning the dinner and setting up the silent auction is a labor of love for the Kol Ami Klassic Planning Commitee. Whether you golf or not, this is a great way to help out the Temple, meet some people, and have a good time. To volunteer, click here and select “Golf Tournement” on the Volunteer Page. To learn more about the tournament click here.
Play for the Kolamites
The softball season is underway and we’re always looking for players. Games are held on Wednesday evenings and are held at the JCC in Scottsdale. It costs $50 to be on the team and you get a Kol Amite softball shirt, umpired games, and all the adoring fans you can bring. It’s slow-pitch, non-competitive, and the goal is to have fun! It’s not a co-ed league (shucks!), and we know you can’t make every game, and that’s why its good to have a deep bench. Call Rabbi Schneider for all the details 480-951-9660.

Temple Kol Ami is pleased to announce that it has become an official partner with Valley Beit Midrash (VBM). VBM is a collaborative adult education program that brings new, exciting and relevant Jewish learning to the Greater Phoenix Jewish community in a diverse, welcoming, engaging and pluralistic setting.

In this course we will consider different theological responses to the horrors of the Shoah. From ultra-Orthodox rabbis writing at the time of the Shoah to scholars writing decades after the event, we will consider a wide range of responses to the fundamental questions posed by the holocaust.

Cost $60 for 5 sessions
